Introduction |
The Association Bryggman Society was founded in April 2010. The goal of the Association is to support the educational and research activities of the Institute. The Association functions both independently and in collaboration with the Bryggman Foundation. The Association will also work together with other organizations interested in architecture, construction, and built environment. The Association may produce publications and arrange other forms of educational activity. It may also arrange work parties, seminars, excursions, and other events furthering the goals of the Bryggman Institute. It may also grant stipends and grants to students and researchers. The Association may arrange fee-based catering at its own events, and sell Institute-related products. It may also arrange lotteries (with appropriate permits), and apply for and receive grants, donations, and wills. The Bryggman Society Association may have two types of members. A person can be admitted as a regular member, if he/she accepts the goals of the Association. A person or a legal entity wishing to support the goals and purpose of the Association can be admitted as a supporting member. The Board of the Association admits members by application. The annual meeting is held before the end of May. The annual personal membership fee is presently 20 euros. Caterina Casagrande-Mäkelä, architect, was elected the first chairperson of the Association. Other Board members in 2011 are Ulrika Grägg, Soilikki Franssila, Kari Immonen, Kaarin Kurri, Kari Peltonen, and Helena Soiri-Snellman. Alternate members are Paula Keskikastari, Heikki Schrey, Ulla Seppälä-Kavén, and Sakari Sivula.
